KT 43.12 Ruby red

Like the proverbial ruby created when royal, blue blood dripped on a diamond.

Referenz - Le Corbusier, Salubra wallpaper, 1959

Farbfunktion - dynamic

Wirksamkeit - good under all lighting conditions

Ludwig Wittgenstein noted, in his philosophical remarks on the logic of color notations, that the terms dark red and blackish red are not “the same sort of concept”. “A ruby can appear dark red when one looks through it, but if it is transparent, it cannot look blackish-red.” This color, which arises when raw umber – but not black – is added to DPP-ruby red pigment, confirms this observation: it is physically and optically a spectacular dark red. The color’s richness is even more tangible in the shadows.

"Their colors are just unbelievably beautiful, whether the sun is shining, or it's rainy weather, or night, with every play of light they look different again. Incredible."
