“Along the dusty lane the green is almost gray; but this gray, although subdued, is laced with silver and blue.” Rainer Maria Rilke wrote these lines of poetry in French in his later years. In our opinion, they are a beautiful description of the color Umber gray. If KT 32.010 Iron gray is too cool and KT 32.140 Dark native umber is too warm or too green, this might be a most convincing color. Enfolding everything in its warm embrace, it tells tales of weathered cliffs, deep shadows and tranquility.
