Rosemary is almost contradictory in its historic connotations. Rosemary twigs were signs of love, but also symbols of healing. Ophelia presented Hamlet with a wreath of rosemary as a sign of her fidelity, while many cultures used rosemary as an auspicious grave offering. The word’s origins are similarly ambiguous: rosemary could come from "sea dew" or mean "balsamic shrub". Fresh as sea dew, delightful as a new love, intense as the scent of the herb, in harmony with the light and subtle in its coloration: Rosemary green serves many purposes and covers all the bases.
