In Japanese artwork, the color of dark green pine needles is loaded with meaning; the pine needles themselves are said to hold the power to drive away evil demons. Their evergreen color symbolizes longevity and assertion. Did the manufacturers of English automobiles have this in mind when they selected a dark green lacquer for their racing cars? Japanese lacquer artwork often shows this color with gold leaf, and classic racing cars combine it with polished chrome. It is hard to conceive of nobler pairings!

"Their colors are just unbelievably beautiful, whether the sun is shining, or it's rainy weather, or night, with every play of light they look different again. Incredible."
