KT 04.004 Ultramarine green shade

Ultramarine blue with a salutary note of green.

Referenz - Hans Kittel, Pigmente, 1960

Farbfunktion - dynamic

Wirksamkeit - good under all lighting conditions

Ultramarine green is a sulfur-reduced relative of its famous blue brother, but fifty percent of the raw mixture is lost during pigment processing. This low yield may explain why the beautiful pigment has played such a subordinate role in the history of painting, even though it is as fascinating as ultramarine blue. Since all paints based on ultramarine pigments are luminous under conditions of low lighting, this bluish green serves architecture well on surfaces whose beauty would be sacrificed with the use of other green pigments.

Customer feedback

"Their colors are just unbelievably beautiful, whether the sun is shining, or it's rainy weather, or night, with every play of light they look different again. Incredible."
