Ochre is one of the oldest colors in the history of architecture; it was used in all known cultures. A warming, even nurturing effect is credited to ochres such as this one. This charismatic effect seems reasonable if one bears in mind that the clays the pigment comes from are the rich, golden soils that olive trees, grains and citrus fruits grow on. Unlike brilliant shades of yellow, which make spaces seem smaller, this sandy color will not affect the perception of spatial dimensions.

"Their colors are just unbelievably beautiful, whether the sun is shining, or it's rainy weather, or night, with every play of light they look different again. Incredible."
