Tinting French ochre to lighten it is best achieved with a natural white pigment similar to ochre in grain and composition. In keeping with this recommendation, the lighter hues of this series are mixtures of Champagne chalk and Burgundy ochre. Both pigments are warm and embracing when they are used alone, and when they are mixed, the result is as full-bodied and balanced as a well-made cuvee. Light French ochre appears to warm the space every time a light ray strikes its gentle surface.
