KT 26.012 Art gallery gray

A gentle gray, as taciturn and silent as weathered cliffs.

Referenz - Le Corbusier, paint sample Villa La Roche, 1926

Farbfunktion - differentiation

Wirksamkeit - good under all lighting conditions

In his writings, Le Corbusier referred to gray as the color of serenity and as the antithesis to dynamic colors such as orange. A substantial number of gray wall samples found in his architecture testify to the importance that he attributed to this color. The reference this gray is based on corresponds to the second paint layer of a wall sample taken from the salon of the Villa La Roche. It was a glue paint pigmented with French chalk and ivory black. Reconstruction yielded this – a great color of discretion.

Customer feedback

"Their colors are just unbelievably beautiful, whether the sun is shining, or it's rainy weather, or night, with every play of light they look different again. Incredible."
