Lux Guyer, born in 1894, was one of the first females with her own architecture firm in Switzerland. In 1928, she constructed a pre-fabricated wooden house geared to the needs of family living. A color concept based on striking, yet muted colors created tranquil spaces throughout the comfortable home. This grayish green was used on all four walls and on the sloped ceiling of an upstairs study. When the cupboard was opened, bright Poppy red beamed forth, a whimsical gesture that lightened the mood of everyday life.

"Their colors are just unbelievably beautiful, whether the sun is shining, or it's rainy weather, or night, with every play of light they look different again. Incredible."
